A lovely gem situated only a short drive from PE, amazing hiking trails and exhilarating 4×4 course. Neat accommodation and helpful kind hosts. Beautiful views from every part of the farm, the waterfall hike is a definite must for a relaxing walk in nature.

We visited in 2017 with our son and our dream of going back to this lovely nature, quiet, peaceful palace became true in 2024 on my husbands birthday. Can’t remember when last we enjoyed ourself so much. Highly recommended for nature lovers, family bonding, hikers, and just some soul cleansing and recharge yourself before tackling our busy life’s again. Thanks so much.

Had a great stay with lovely hosts and the house had every thing we needed. Beautiful spot and would definitely go back!! The hammock on the stoep was amazing and we really enjoyed our stay. It was great that drinking water was supplied.

We really enjoyed the facilities. Accommodation was top notch, with everything we needed for an enjoyable weekend. Facilities are suitable for elderly people with access to bathrooms and general areas that are easily accessible. Excellent braai facilities, and there were even firelighters left out for us to use. Hiking trails were clean and clearly marked. All around a beautiful place to visit with beautiful views and friendly staff end owners, that were available anytime we needed something.

Really enjoyed my stay at Bergrivier Eco Retreat, the scenery is really nice and if you looking for peace and quiet this is perfect. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get away for the weekend with their partner, kids etc.

Driving down the valley on the 3km gravel road towards the accommodation we didn’t know what to expect. When we go to reception the most beautiful scenery awaited us. What a stunning location. The accommodation in the Kroonarend chalet had everything we needed.
We went hiking to the mountain pool to cool off. The hike through indigenous forrest felt like a fairy world. And the mountain pool was exactly what we needed. There are 7 hiking trails to choose from. We also took a drive on the 18km 4×4 track. Here you see beautiful fynbos and breathtaking views.
The camp site also has lush green lawns, a swim dam and swings etc. for the kids. Loved our time here. Wildlife and especially birds are abundant…

This is a beautiful working farm, a real retreat from the hustle and bustle. The accommodation is lovely, it was everything we required. Upon arrival we took a hike up to the waterfall, really stunning. The quiet and the scenery is wonderful . Japie and Dorie are warm and hospitable hosts. We were on our way from Cape Town to Addo Elephant park and this was a welcome stop after the day in the car. We think one night was not enough, but we wish to return if we do a similar journey again.

Stunning accommodation and beautiful views and absolute peace and quiet. Once u are there you almost never want to leave its so beautiful. We thank u to everyone at Bergrivier for being so accommodating.
